Marching Dancing Zombies

Yesterday, I made an *uh duh* realization. For the last couple of weeks, I'd been taking Benadryl for anti-histamine action and generic-brand decongestants as well. Supposedly, the decongestant would cancel out the drowsification of the antihistamine, but coincidentally, those two weeks also included all-time low productivity on my novel.

Tuesday morning, instead of taking Benadryl, I took an Advil Cold & Sinus, and lo and behold, I had more energy at work, I came home and graded, then worked on my novel, with enough energy left to go out for the evening. Astonishing!

So, no more Benadryl for me anytime I feel like being productive.

Last night I switched costume ideas from the Ghost of Albus Dumbledore to Inferi Potter.

Zombie Action The First! -- The zombie walk from the Sample Gates. There were a bunch of zombies, from zombie ninja to zombie Jesus, as well as a ZNN (Zombie News Network) news team. It was good lurching, good shambling, and even good death when I got zapped by a Zombie Hunter, and then again when the Super Friends showed up to defend the library against the Zombie Hordes. The last stop before Axis was to attack the Taco Bell. Brains are the real fourthmeal.

Zombie Prom was fun, though I didn't dig a whole lot of the music. The firedancing rocked, and the punk band was sufficiently bad to qualify as a punk band, but the music was even too loud in the front room (as opposed to the room they were actually playing in). The costumes and makeup rocked, and it was great to see people. But without compelling music to keep me on the dance floor, I said my goodbyes and came home to hit the sack. Well, after 10 minutes washing off my makeup.

Today I get to teach in Halloween Costume #3 -- Chinese Kung-fu Webmaster. Then, Halloween fencing. Like normal fencing, but it's Halloween. Somehow I don't think my costume counts as puncture-resistant protection, and a jingasa sure as hell isn't rigid.
