Tango By Other Means

Apr 15, 2007 08:20

I think I've found my happy equilibrium with tango -- not stasis, but equilibrium. The place where I'm learning quickly without having it consume most of my waking thoughts. The not stressing about tango so much seems to be making my dancing better, in accordance with the Dao of Dude It's Okay. I'm still tangoing more than writing in any given week, and part of that is that tango also counts as exercise and lets me get out of the house to be social.

I'm starting to make contact with other Clarion Westies to be. The trickling of notifications is still going on, so it may be a little while before I find out if I get any scholarship love.

I got to drag new housemate irishelf out to tango last, and she took to it like a duck to water. Huzzah for more tango-dancing housemates. We hit McMinneman's afterward for burgers. Tasty, but not exactly in accordance with my intent to eat better this term.

Today will be glamorous laundry, FAFSA (for this year, not next year--yes, I'm weird, what's new?), readings for my performance class, a DJ mix session with my co-DJ for tonight, then house meeting and the university club milonga.

In other news -- On Friday I heard/saw the two local University a cappella groups, On the Rocks and Divisi. I really appreciate good a cappella work, and it makes me remember Conchordia fondly, for all the lack of performing that we did. Luckily I'm getting to get my vocalist on with Los Banditos.

We go!

dancing, music, tango, life
