PHYSICS HOMEWORK HELP

Sep 19, 2006 01:41

arrite.. so i am calling out for a bit of help on these simple physics problems.. no matter ho many times and way i do it.. the answers are the same and wrong.. so if you could help me out, that'd be great.

here are the equations
t (Vinitial + V) =X
2

X=Xinitial+(Vinitial)(t) + .5at^2

V=Vinitial+at

V^2 = Vinitial + 2a(X-Xinitial)

V is final velocity.
a is acceleration (usually due to gravity.. 9.8m/s^2)
X is displacement
t is time
(and ^2 means squared)

4. A ball has an initial speed of 15m/s the acceleration due to grav. is 9.8m/s^2. What will the position be after 2.2 secs?

7. The acceleration due to gravity on the moon is about 1/6 its value on earth. If a baseball reaches a height of 59m hen thron upward by someone on earth, what height would it reach when thrown in the same way on the surface of the moon?
