Hey, so what up everyone? :) ... i just got home, and I have to say I had a pretty damn good afternoon. First I went to the orthodontists, and they told me that my braces are definitely getting taken off this June! Yay! Be happy for me, ppl, cause I've had them for 3 and a half years now.
For the spelling test we did for DT, she apparently submitted Dustan's score as the highest in the class, when mine actually was. What an indignant bitch... Anyways, I found out today Dustan was going to a spelling bee tonight instead of me... but i didn't really care, although i said i ought to go in place of him. So while I'm in the dentist's chair dustan calls me on my cell phone and tells me to go in his place. So he gave me the address. But, first, cause I had some time to kill, I went over the Gooseberries, which is the kickass new organic foods market in GP, and I had the yummyest tofu falafel hippie sandwich ever at their deli. you just gotta try one... I would totally go vegetarian if i could have one of those everyday. Yeah, so then I went over to the spelling bee which was way the hell out in murphy somewhere. There were a bunch of ppl I knew there. Cedar was competing, and also Mr. Hewkin was there. He is the best guy ever, i have to say. So I sat next to a bunch of giggly middle-school age girls. They kept looking at me, and asking me strange questions... like... "Are you gay? Because your shoes have rainbows on them." and "Do you want some of my cookie?" and the classic: "Would you give me a dollar?" ... yeah, it was quite entertaining
Soo... I got first place in the spelling bee and got one of those crappy plastic trophies with the bee on the top... So I get to go to regionals at SOU in May. I was really hesitant to go to the goddamn spelling bee, because I can't really think of a more ridiculous discipline than spelling, for christsake, and I didn't want to look like an English geek even though everyone knows I already am. But, yeah I'm glad I won...
And I've been recently reading what is in my opinion one of the best books in the world: Catcher in the Rye. It's all about this 16 year old kid in New York in the 1940s. It's basically about how he views the world and mainly focuses and his romp through the city on his own.. going to bars... being with girls... hiring hookers, etc. He is a cynical bastard, and that's why I love the book so much. He's exactly like me! I can identify with this character and just about everything he says very much so. Hell, there was even a Green Day song about how much Billie Joe Armstrong could relate to this character. (Holden Caulfield) And what I love about it is that this book was written in the 40s, yet it is so easy to understand and identify with for youth of any generation. And it has so much to do with the small things in life. Yeah, basically it's the perfect emo book. Anyone and everyone should read it.
Damn, was that a long ass post... What can i say, I'm loving life right now, and i love catcher in the rye, and, yeah...
