Fics to write. I blame Twitter.
I started writing fic almost exactly a month ago. I was going through some rough stuff IRL; spending time in the world of Castle was a nice escape. But now I'm addicted to writing for writing's sake (and reviews, om nom nom). I keep getting more ideas for fics, usually while I'm on Twitter, and then my fellow Castillions egg me on. I figure if I publish what I'm supposed to write, it'll help me keep track of and be accountable for actually writing these stories.
- Team Castle: projected at one more chapter. This is my priority-I'm not allowing myself to write any more oneshots until I get this series done. Yeah, that happened.
- Summer camp: oneshot, probably an Esposito or Ryan POV. The detectives go on a team-building retreat. There's a scene involving a tipping kayak.
- Vampire Simone Kate: oneshot. Castle POV. From Twitter: "What if KB becomes undead? How awesome would that be?! (I mean, SK's already pale enough, & she pulled off the vamp teeth in Librarian.)" And a few lines I came up with on the spot, because I couldn't resist: "Castle stared. Fangs. She had fangs. 'Stop gaping & shut the door! I already got 3rd-degree burns closing the curtains.'"
- Firefly crossover: Beckett POV. This one will probably take a while to coalesce. I'm not sure exactly what it will look like-I plan to rewatch my FF DVDs and let some ideas rattle around in my head for a while.
- Day in the life: oneshot. Beckett POV. Beckett loses a bet with Castle and has to let him shadow her on her day off. She drags him to the gym and makes him clean her kitchen. He mentions what his days were like when Alexis was young-story time!
- Sports: oneshot. Castle POV. Castle attends a charity sporting event put on by NYPD/FDNY. Currently wavering between hockey and basketball.
- Fight: Castle's driving Beckett nuts. When he pesters her about her weekly sparring session, she pulls him into the ring, convinces him to spar on the grounds that he'll gain first-hand knowledge of a Nikki Heat fight scene-and then proceeds to beat the tar out of him.
- Established relationship fic: just to see if I can pull it off. Not too many ideas as of yet.
- Life crossover: unsure what this will look like, or if I'll actually write it. Constance Griffiths has moved to NY; Castle starts dating her. When she's pulled back into the LA conspiracy, Castle goes after her, meets Crews and Reese. Pull KB in, or leave her out?
- Apocalyptic or post-apocalyptic AU: Castle, now with added zombies!
- The Spirit/Castle crossover: Beckett and Morganstern meet.
