It was this time of day he loved the most. The night not quite here, the day not quite gone, the soft glow of twilight hanging about the school as the newest teacher in the school finished getting settled in. He sighed as he stepped out of his classroom, closing and locking the door behind him.
As he often did, he began to walk, getting 'lost on the

He may be holding a guitar right now, but his first love was - still is - the piano. And to hear someone play it so well~? The best part was that it didn't sound mechanical, didn't sound 'learned'.
He doesn't interrupt Kakashi, sitting there real still, as if any movement would break the spell. He totally hadn't been expecting today to turn out so well after all. Hah. Itachi never played in front of anybody, he'd heard Sasuke practice every day at home, he'd heard himself play the piano, the same old thing over and over again. And frankly, this music room hadn't really been used in a while, always so quiet, just him after school... This was a great change. And, much respect to the man at the piano.
Towards the end of the melody, Shisui sat up, reaching for the power cords, plugging it into his guitar and turning on the power, playing a few notes before gradually getting into Temple of the King... And yeah, he's singing the words as well... Just having fun here~

He had shifted to sit at the end of the piano bench, merely watching quietly. When it came to an end, that was when he finally spoke, breaking the somewhat pregnant silence.
"You play wonderfully..Is the guitar all you play?"

Finally, Shisui stands up, making sure the guitar is safe on the floor and the cords pulled out. You can see him now, clad in a black suit, tie and all. "The piano."
A smile and then he walks towards the stage, standing far enough to be able to look at Kakashi without having to look up. "And the ukulele and cello. Would have played the violin too, but I've got two extremely competitive cousins back at home. Wouldn't want to get in their way, y'know?"
He gestures to the piano with his chin, hands in his pockets. "I could sit here listening to you play her forever." Another smile. "Name's Uchiha Shisui. You?"

When he drew closer, Kakashi studied him as he did any who spoke to him. Old habits died hard he supposed. "Hmm...she's a fine instrument.." He reached out trailing his fingers over the keys.
"A little out of tune, but that can be fixed. As for me...Hatake Kakashi...the new Literature teacher here." He motioned to the door a moment. "I didn't think anyone was in here, I'm sorry if I intruded on your practice at all."

"Uh, and yeah, she is a little out of tune. No one's played anything in here for a while. All of these have been gathering dust for some time now. I just stop by and play a few here and there when I have the time." He looks at the door as well and grins. "Eh. Don't have the keys myself. Just helped myself in here, and I usually lock it so that no one would waltz right in and kick me out for trespassing after hours." He isn't a model teacher, ahem.
"Literature? Cool, so--" And he jumps up on to the stage~ "Classics and poetry and Austen and Shakespeare and Homer and Tolkein? Will you be going over works from other writers as well, as in, from other cultures?" He's actually studying you up, Kakashi, standing close, wondering why you're wearing a mask... "I'm the school counselor, sort of part-time."
...Then he turns around - partly to stop himself from being too obvious about staring at the mask and noting the scar down across one eye - and picks up a violin and bow and pushes it towards Kakashi. "Alright, I'll play the piano, you play thye violin. Let's think up something to play together." Beaming at ya~ How can you say no to this face??

"Hm, I'll have to bring my tools from home and give her a proper tune up..I just tuned my own last night." He turned and blinks, oh hello there Shisui...a little close are we?
He lets the other study him as much as he likes, he often got strange looks, if not for his mask or hair, people were somehow enraptured by the scar. "Precisely..I'll also be teaching the students how to write on their own, stories, poems, essays, those sorts of things. Who knows, it may be a good outlet for any trouble youth that find their way into my class."
Kakashi blinked in surprise as he was offered a violin, taking it carefully. This poor thing. A rather cheap model bought in bulk for the school. Settling his chin on the rest, he dragged the bow and all but winced. Guh! Out of tune!
So, he set about the arduous task of tuning it by ear. A few minutes of adjustment later, he drew the bow, visibly relaxing as the instrument sang sweetly for him. "Much better." He murmured.
"So then...what shall we play?" The Uchiha was on the piano so Kakashi waited patiently for him to lead on.

"Actually, you might get to read some interesting stories~ I promise you won't be bored." True that, these kids came from all sorts of backgrounds, most of them not from what you'd call 'normal' backgrounds, and every day was such a challenge to get through. And the drama? Oh the drama~ He'd like to be involved in all of it as minimally as possible, but he was counselor, and all the gory details reached his desk...
And while the mask intrigues him, Shisui is not going to ask him about it. He wonders if there is more scarring on the man's face that he is trying to hide behind that mask, and if so, what may have caused it... Or, judging by the angle and nature of the scar on his eye, and also from what he can see of his build, he wonders if he's been in either the police force, military, or had some history that involved fighting. Something cool, he thinks, because not many people walked around with their faces covered~ Also Kakashi didn't seem like the street fighter kind of guy, not with the way he carried himself, so Shisui is ruling out general troublemaker from the list of possibilities for now.
When Kakashi dragged the bow across the strings the first time, Shisui flinched as well. "Like I said, rarely been used. And I'm guessing Sasuke borrowed the best one of the lot after he smashed his..." He may or may not have mumbled something akin to that little bastard, feeling the keys on the piano, playing a few notes here and there, all of a sudden breaking into Chopin's Nocturne for a few seconds and then stopping~
He thinks for a minute and then says: "Well, I know there's a million pieces out there we could play, from the masters, but... What do you think of Coldplay's Viva la Vida~?" And here he grins at Kakashi. "Mm?"

Kakashi began to play since the song led out with a strong violin and that's what he did. His eyes were lidded as he drew the bow over the strings, fingers flexing to produce the needed tones.
All the while, a smile was tucked away behind that mask. It had been forever since he'd had someone to play with.

Anyone could tell he was having fun. A lot of fun~ It was evident in the way he moved and the expression on his face. Dark as it was in that room, it was almost as if Dr. Shisui's face lit up just then. It had been so long since he had someone to play with as well... And playing something that wasn't a classical piece at that.

He rarely did such a thing, only one other had heard him do it, but he sang as he played, his fingers deftly flexing and pulling the notes from the borrowed instrument.

This boy couldn't help breaking into song as well, he never could help it, and he did just that, singing with Kakashi, adding in the little background vocals where necessary.
And when they neared the end, his fingers never stopped. Playing a little more, gradually started on . And uh, he probably should join an old crooner's club or something, because, while waiting for Kakashi to play, he began to sing again >.>

It was strange, he's just met Shisui and they were already bonding in that way the musicians do when they find a kindred spirit. He had no idea how long they would be here playing..maybe another hour, perhaps all night?
Either one was fine for him really.

Again, nearing the end of that song... But this time he would let Kakashi pick, if he wanted to keep playing~

He laughed a little at that. "Speaking of which I have to make sure to grab my violin before I leave.." If he left that is.

His fingers didn't leave the keys yet, randomly playing a few soft notes on it. "Only 'sometime'?" A laugh followed, and he played a string of quick notes. "Just kidding, but man, your own studio. That is the coolest thing I've ever heard yet." He went quiet for a moment there, before picking up the notes again and adding: "It's time I bought my own instrument. Or it'll never happen."
Another brief pause and then he posed another question: "So, what kind of work did you do before you got here?" Because you totally don't look like you were a school teacher before this, Kakashi. Or were you? |8

"I enjoy playing music, so it made sense to have one." He placed the violin back where he had seen Shisui take it from, looking to him lightly. He blinked at the question and then couldn't help but smile.
"Why don't you tell me hm?" He tilted his head as he regarded the Uchiha, he always loved hearing the stories people came up with regarding him.
