[Somebody had stayed behind after class to make use of the empty Art room. Being his usual curious self, when he saw the music room door open he had to stop and take a look. Maybe Sasuke was in there?

He looks, and no, that is definitely not Sasuke. ]

OMG TAGS! *flails!

Kakashi paused, glancing towards the door and straightened up, his hands slipping into the pockets of his sports coat. "Hatake Kakashi..the new Literature teacher." He tilted his head, regarding this young man before him, a trained eye picking up little details here and there.

"And what's got a student here so late hm?"

Sai doesn't answer at first, carefully studying the stranger from head to toe. Once done with his inspection, a smile suddenly spreads across his face.

"Then I will be a student of yours. My name is Sai."

[chidorimaster]

It was sort of odd, almost like two animals sizing one another up, the way they studied one another, trying to pick out any discrepancies.

"Good to meet you Sai." He smiled in return. "If you're such a dedicated student to stay after this last, I'm looking forward to teaching you." There was nothing quite like an eager mind.

"I actually pay attention in class unlike most of the students here." His friends may be upset if they were around to hear that, but it is the truth.

"I did not stay late to study though. I was using the Art supplies."

[chidorimaster]

"That would explain the slight staining on your fingers." He smiled just a little at that.

"And as for the other students, I suppose I'll just have to do my best to make them pay attention. I've dealt with short attention spans before." He gave a slight shrug at that. He'd do his best to be fair to the students, but he could only do so much.

Looking down at his hands, he hadn't even noticed the paint stains still covering them. He will have to go wash his hands again before leaving the building.

"What kind of things are we going to be learning in your class then, Sensei?"

[chidorimaster]

Kakashi smiled behind his mask. "Hm, the literature of different countries, poems, sonnets, those kinds of things. Whatever the school board hands me down to teach you; like writing skills" He shrugged a shoulder lightly.

"Who knows, you and the others might actually enjoy my class. That's my hope anyway."

"I see."

Sai enjoys reading books, but they are almost always non-fictional. He doubts that he would be much good when it comes to explaining things such as poems.

"Why do we need to learn things like that?"

[chidorimaster]

"Hm, universities now a days have a curriculum that is based on a strong foundation of literature and writing skills. Essays and reports are a rather large part of such a thing."

As for not understanding poems, that's what he's here for Sai! To teach you how to do such a thing.

"Oh... I don't think I will be going to university though. I intend to join the military."

He had been at military school before transferring to Ninja High and to be honest, he was much better at things like that. Although still interested in Kakashi's class, he probably won't have much of a need for poems.
