Kabuto filed this information away. "Alright then, we can start with the basics. I don't suppose too much of a demonstration will be necessary?" He holds up a glowing hand. "Simply concentrate on creating the specific kind of energy."
Hanabi activated her Byakugan. By seeing how chakra flowed, she generally caught on to techniques reasonably quickly. She made some mistakes through trial and error of course, but at least observing this way allowed her to have a good grasp of what she was supposed to be doing.
"How do you create that kind of energy?" she asked.
"Relax and breathe rhythmically, then concentrate on cellular regeneration. It takes a lot of control, but there's no need for seals, and it can be very useful indeed."
Hanabi used the same breathing that she did when meditating, and did her best to relax herself. Envisioning cellular regeneration took a little longer, but after a few minutes of effort, her hand produced a faint glow of chakra that would at least do some healing.
"Like this?" she asked, a little uncertain. "It's not nearly as intense a glow as what you managed."
"Scratches is mainly what I have after sparring against Toph," said Hanabi. "Scratches and bruises. One cut that I had to wrap up, ice, elevate and put direct pressure on to stop the bleeding, but not serious enough to require stitches."
She looked thoughtful. "Did I get the technique right, Kabuto? Aside from the improvements that are made with practice?"
Hanabi smiled a bit at that. "One of the elder med-nins working at the hospital in my universe's Konoha sometimes lamented that there were not more Hyuugas interested in the medical field."
Releasing the chakra from her hand, she asked, "So, should we try something else, or would you like me to practice that one until I've fully gotten it?"
At that instruction, Hanabi brought back the healing chakra in her hand, focusing as Kabuto had instructed, and set about repairing some of the scrapes, bruises and cuts on her body. The minor scrapes and bruises gradually went away, but she concluded that the one larger cut that she'd gotten in the fight would take another try.
A few beads of sweat appeared on her forehead after she'd spent more than five minutes holding up the technique. It really did take a lot of focus and intense chakra control, but her body was being fixed.
Her eyes suddenly widened, and she released the healing chakra to clutch at a covered place around her collarbone. That was threatening to flare up again, and it was like a burning itch under her skin, where she couldn't reach.
((Not a problem. ^^ Real life happens.))
