Funny story of the day:
Primer: I had no idea that there was a daytime TV show called
Loose Women. It's essentially a show where a bunch of semi-famous women get together and have a girly chat in front of TV cameras, from what I can gather. Anyway...
So Helen (one of the MRSA support workers) and I were labelling up samples today, and during the conversation she said something about poor old me having to stand here all day sorting urines when I don't even have to. I goes "Yeah, well, I enjoy doing this kind of work. That, and it gives me something to do." So she goes, jokingly, "oh so what is it normally for you then? Wake up, a bit of
Loose Women, watching telly?" At the time, I wasn't exactly sure what she was trying to say, I thought perhaps she meant "loose women" in the non-TV show context. I decided to make a joke out of it anyway. Following that line of thought this is what transpired:
Me: "shyeah. I wish. Unfortunately there aren't enough loose women in my life!"
Helen: Y'know, I bet they have it on up there in the staff room
Me: (still thinking along a similar context)....what?! O_O
Helen: Y'know, on the TV up there.
Me:... Oh~! It's a TV show?!
Helen: Yeah!
Me:...shit! XD
See, this is what happens when you don't watch TV anymore >_>
