So my Easter holiday was rather uneventful. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it. Especially 'cos I had an extra day off XD
Didn't really do much. Parents came up for the weekend. Oh, and it snowed. Like LOADS on Sunday all of a sudden for like 5 minutes. And then it was gone. We'd actually been getting bursts of snow on and off all weekend but the one on Sunday was the largest. Never had a white Easter before. Weird.
And now, it's back to work... which always feels harder to do after several days off >_<
Just now, I went for a drive. It wasn't planned or anything. I was giving my sister a lift to town at 8pm and on the way back I just... didn't turn off to head to my street. I don't really know exactly why I did it. I just... felt like it. I didn't really feel like I wanted to return home just yet. I wasn't entirely sure where exactly I wanted to go, but I did know that I wanted to go somewhere where I could go fast. Perhaps I have a little speed demon harboured inside me. I ended up driving all the way out past Edwinstowe to Budby, where an old friend of mine used to live (he now lives with his girlfriend in Mansfield). I think I headed that way 'cos that was the only place that I knew how to get to that had a lot of high-speed country roads on the way there. They're fairly straight too, though slightly uneven with minor dips and bumps. I think the suspension on my car's a little stiffer than most, so it bounced around a lot while driving down those roads at about 80mph. I had to brace myself by pushing against the dead pedal (the "fake pedal" to the left of the accelerator, it looks like a pedal but is really just part of the flooring) so my steering was more stable throughout the movement of the car XD
I ended up stopping outside the house he used to live in (his parents and sister live there now) and thought I might knock on the door to see if he's there, as he's known to visit them often. But by the time I got out the car, I realised it was about 9pm. It was a bit late for a random drop-in on a Thursday night, so I just got back into the car and drove home.
It felt quite good to do all that though. I dunno what it is about me and driving at night. I almost prefer it to driving during the day.
Anyway! Enough of my randomness. I should go shower...
