Although I do think
Steam is a great idea, the fact that how well it works depends heavily on your internet connection can be quite annoying. Being a citizen of the UK, high-bandwidth internet connections are nowhere near as ubiquituous here as they are in the states. Also, there aren't many ISPs here that offer a decent package with an acceptable level of reliability.
Wanting to play a game, and then being told that I can't play it till an hour and a half later, despite the fact that the game itself is already installed on my computer and is singleplayer, is just... well, it's justa bit dumb, isn't it? And it's all because of the way the game works with Steam. Well, to be more precise, it's 'cos Agnes Jones' internet connection has virtually no bandwidth to it during regular waking hours.
*sigh*
Today was relatively uneventful. Went to stats and sat there staring off into space. Came back and finished The Mask (yes, the book I bought yesterday). Will probably make my way into town tomorrow afternoon to buy Smoke and Mirrors, on
tayles' recommendation.
And because I can't very well receive a compliment without also giving them back as well, here is a meme:
Reply to this post, and I'll tell you one reason why I like you. Then put this in your own journal, and spread the love
