Went to Nottingham yesterday to do the remainder of Xmas shopping. I drove my sister, and two of her friends there.
For some reason, there was extremely thick fog around the place yesterday. It's really random patches too. On the way to Nottingham, it wasn't so bad 'cos it was still light, but on the way back was a little less easy. There was a random patch of extremely thick fog which, once the streetlights had ended, blanketed out even the side of the road. I had to drive back for a bit relying only on the two small red dots, that were the backlights of the car in front, to guide me along the road. Couldn't. See. Shit. The fog, on the otherhand, was actually a visible thing at some points. Could occasionally see clouds of it roll around the front of the car in the muffled glow of the headlights. Was kinda cool, when I had the nerve to take my eyes off what I could see of the car in front XD It was all kinda random patches, actually. One minute it'll be so bad that you can barely see the lane markings a car length ahead of you, and the next it'll be crystal clear. Crazy stuff. Well, at least it made the drive there and back more interesting XD
In Nottingham, I bought presents for mum and dad. I also bought a *gasp* book! =O I seem to get a book everytime I go shopping in Nottingham these days. I felt like expanding out from James Herbert, in regards to horror, so I bought Dean Koontz's The Taking. Been reading it yesterday and today. Am enjoying it quite a bit, even if I am a little disappointed at the initial premise of the storry. Oh, well. Hopefully, there'll be a twist, or something surprising. The rest of it's pretty good read though.
I also caved and bought Armored Core: Last Raven for the PS2. It'd be a pretty good game, if it wasn't so fucking hard. I'm only on about the 4th set of mission choices, and I can't do either of them. My AC (mech) is just not equipped the right way, and I can't afford to change out my equipment. I think I'll just have to start again XD Battles against computer-controlled ACs feel like horribly one-sided affairs. The computer, for some reason, is imbued with a near limitless supply of energy, which allows him to boost for eternity, thus making him a super-fast target to even keep in your target-lock square. It's hard enough with just one, and sometimes you have to take on 3! It's just hard XD
The Gamestation in Notts had so much cool Nintendo stuff. I mean, GS has always stocked things like Nintendo t-shirts, but this one had a whole load of other things. Like sweat bands?? Wrist bands, pin badges, and NES BELT BUCKLES!! XD I went and bought a set of Pac-Man pin badges to put on my bag 8D
Today, I've just wrote some Xmas cards and sent those off, along with a parcel. I hope they don't get to their destinations too late, if not in time for Xmas XD
