Upstream.

I've been suddenly been a bit too busy to feel like updating over the past few days. I had my first lecture on Monday morning, and subesequently every morning since. I had a full-on lab session yesterday and another one today. Got another one tomorrow. 9am starts every day. Barrel of fun, indeed. I'm really not used to such early starts again after at least a year of mostly afternoon classes XD

  • A thick wad of things I should probably read (that I got after lecture 1), growing thicker by the day.
  • Difficulty in keeping up during lectures. Am reduced to just annotating the handout copy of the slides (which I don't like doing) 'cos there's no way I can copy down the slides' info AND what the lecturer is saying.
  • Two lab sessions (the 2nd of which has left me feeling really rather incompetant)
  • Very little to eat
  • An inadequate amount of sleep
  • The unfortunate luck of being randomly picked out to answer/answer to difficult questions that I don't know the answer to
  • A suitably strong feeling that I'm a minnow trying to swim upstream with the salmon.
  • A free 1GB USB stick (this really made my day too)
  • An empty space in my wallet where my University of Liverpool student ID card should be (everyone else has their's, where's mine?)
  • Several close calls with a kidney-destroying strain E. coli (probably... I really need to stop licking my fingers before I turn the page of the lab book in the lab 8D)
  • An urge to curl up into a ball in the corner and die

And this is only day 3 XD

Went out for drinks with most of the other people on this course. Got to know some of them. They all seem to come from academic and career backgrounds of a level that's far and above anything that I could ever hope to achieve. I really do wonder whether I should even be on this course.

I suppose all I really need to do is do some more reading and actually look over my lecture notes. Though, as it stands, I should probably work on getting enough sleep 'cos I'm barely able to stay awake the moment I sit down.

On the bright side, this might actually force me to adopt and get used to something similar to a regular sleeping pattern.

Our oven's still not fixed yet. Apparently, a new one should be coming on Thursday and will be fitted then.

I've bought 2 volumes of manga that I've just not had time to/felt like reading since Monday.

By the way, Sony still hates us. Not that I was particularly bothered about the PS3 in the first place, I guess.

Kev, you've left your stuff here XD

stuff, blah, msc, life
