I just finished eating my very first attempt at sushi maki. And it was tasty! And I ate too much and now I am nauseous! But it was worth it!
Salmon, shrimp, mayo, carrot, cucumber. Mmmm.
Of course, this was nowhere near as good as in restaurants, and a real sushi chef would probably have spat my maki out in a second, but hey, it was good enough for me. Preparing the rise was the most difficult thing.
But hah, making sushi wasn't as hard as everyone makes it seem. Or maybe I am a genius. :D
Next time, nigiri?
