In
this post I listed my resolutions, despite not having formally listed resolutions before. Or, in fact, ever making them. Here, mostly for my reference, is an update:
- Loose ten pounds. I'm now down to 157. I've lost 4 pounds already, and I've got 7 more to go (yes, I know that adds up to eleven). I've been quite good about going for my walks, helped along by the nice cool weather we've been having here lately which makes it really nice to walk. I'm still using
calorie count to track my progress and my caloric intake. But, I'm also still eating foods that I enjoy. (See previous post.) I went to the Nu'uanu YMCA with my aunt a few weeks ago and think I might actually join. According to my income stated on my tax returns it'll only cost around $30/month. But, I haven't done it yet because I don't know where I'll be living in a month.
- Deal with my knee. This one is a bit trickier. I did go to the doctor this week, and she prescribed Celebrex (which I've decided I can't/don't want to afford) and ex-rays of my knee. I've got a follow up in two weeks, and I've called and left a message (yesterday, so I should call again today) about the prescription and saying I've got a few thoughts as well. I'll probably need to file workman's comp with MVT, and I'm not looking forward to that since my employe status with them is kind of complicated.
- Be more social. I think I'm making progress on this front too! I went to an inauguration party on Tuesday with a bunch of theatre folks, and tonight I'm going to this "Bollywood Nights" event at Pipeline with the SM for Forum. I met her a holiday party and we hit it off. And, lo and behold, I'm following up and trying to foster friendship and more social activities. Go me!
Of course, in addition to these goals, another very large one has been added: find a condo and buy it! I'm making progress on this front as well. Going to lots of open houses, getting pre-qualified for a loan, coming to grips with the large amount of money involved, that sort of thing. I've also begun accumulating boxes, and am trying to eat down my fridge and pantry items. I really need to begin calling storage places and getting quotes. I'll be staying with my mom and her husband for the time between when I need to be out of my current place (Feb. 21st) and whenever I close on another place, which means I'll need somewhere to put my furniture and kitchen stuff and the like. I also need to start changing my address on all my accounts . . . blech! That'll be tedious. But, if I do forget some of them, I'm sure my landlords will save my mail and I can pick it up later.
