After extensive fucking around with makeup, I have come to one conclusion

May 04, 2012 16:17

I am never allowed to put makeup on myself ever again, even for cosplay.

This is something not even practice will help me improve on, oh my God. I'm just gonna give up on trying to do actual hardcore cosplay until I can figure this out.

what do, random random random, first world problems

I don't know what you've tried so far, but I found that youtube tutorials did wonders for me whenever I wanted to try something new.

It works :( I was rubbish at eye make up, but I got better with practice.

And you should probably start with something simple before moving to hardcore stuff.

I just need to buy aaaall the stuff to do makeup correctly and IDK if I wanna do that just for cosplay. Although now that I'm becoming an ~adult~ I may actually needta learn. Hate everything.

I don't even know how to put foundation on smoothly, Meg-chan. .-.

All the stuff? If you're just starting, all you need is foundation, concealer, a good brush, and powder. It depends on whether your cosplaying and crossplaying, too.

If foundation is tricky I'd just go for liquid foundation and apply it with your finger tips rather than a brush, just like you would do with lotion, and then brush a bit of powder over it so it's smooth. The concealer goes under the eyes and to cover any spots you want taken care.

Mostly crossplaying! I also need those weird sponge things, a foundation primer, eyeliner (liquid or non, still debating), bronzer, and some other things that I can't remember off the top of my head. That plus all the stuff you just said are stuff I don't have at the moment. :|a

Primer is not super necessary unless you just want to make sure that your make up stays on for a long period of time. I don't think I've ever used primer for cosplay make up.

Get a pencil eyeliner if your hand is not steady yet with a liquid one. Bronzer is also not necessary if you can use dark powder in its place. But yeah, the stuff I mentioned is the absolute basic.
