Only got the one short write up left - the next two days are reading days. (We have the classes, but it's mostly a last chance to present projects or pester the professors with questions.)
Yeah, by the time my banannas end up in bananna bread, they look like the most disgusting things on earth. I don't think the chloride is it so much as Potassium triggers the 'bitter' taste receptors in your mouth. (All alkali are bitter, I dunno why, and it wasn't exactly reccomended that I taste test them... :S ) So, now that I think of it, does cocoa powder... The unsweetened kind. What kind of chocolate you using in those brownies, Ning? That could be the answer.
That would be an amazing recipie, actually. My Dad's diabetic, so healthy brownies would be absolutely great. ;)
Hahaha, pester the professors! XD (I'm getting my results back this coming Tuesday, by the way. Can't wait!! :D)
LOL I know right? The previous time, one of my bananas had maggots already. (Our climate is hot and humid, so these things probably grow faster than the bananas can over-ripen. :P) Hmm... so saltiness is linked to bitterness? *rubs chin* I don't use chocolate, heh. *health halo* Only cocoa powder and sugar, which I am trying to replace, heh. I'm a litle crazy. XD
Um, don't count on it! (At least not in near future, haha!)
Cocoa powder. That's what it is. It's just not as sweet as the alternatives.
You win on disgusting banannas, though. Definite win. I'm more likely to get frozen banannas this time of year.
My mom claims that baker's chocolate is good for you (or as good for you as cocoa powder is,) but I don't know how much of that is wishful thinking. ;)
Hahahaha!! Hands-down! My bananas almost always had mould by the time I get to the last one of the bunch, but that time with maggots was really the worst time ever. XD
Eh, I was shopping for chocolate chips today (finished mine today :P) and saw this baking chocolate with 100% cocoa. O_O 100% cocoa, can you imagine how that would taste like? XD I suppose it's packed to the brim with the maximum amount of antioxidants and all that health stuff, lol. Maybe baker's chocolates are less processed or something. :)
Really kind of chalky and bitter, I'd imagine. I mean, I know the idea is to cook with the cocoa, not eat it right out of the package, but still. Probably tastes a lot like the grounds of plain black coffee.
Baking chocolate has very little, (I want to say none but am not sure,) sweetening or milk in it. So yeah, less stuff added is less processed.
Speaking of antioxidants, blueberries are definitely good for you. Now you made me want blueberries, Ning. XD
