Hahaha, brilliant costume, Ning! I'm knee deep in finals papers right now, but congratulations on finishing yours. And Hooray for New Zealand! I'm going to Guatemala myself for a (scary) whole month. Scary less because I'm in a foreign country than because I'm responsible though, I'm one of the three highest placed students on the trip for spanish speaking, and terrified of getting us all lost or something.
My college is kinda awesome with haloween, not gonna lie. There was a guy in a gorilla suit last time, and I went as a roman. (Read: I decided at the last minute that I did have the guts and that was the only costume I could think of that wouldn't have put holes in my bedsheet...) The sims thing was genius though, and the plumbbob hat made me laugh.
That internship sounds exciting. Oh, and the reason the bananna brownies taste salty is because there's so much potassium in a bananna, you just don't taste it normally because banannas are so slimy. I reccomend cinnamon to mask the bananna-y flavor. Or some of the non-sugar stuff they use to make bananna bread... my mom has a recipie somewhere with whatever goes in that stuff, but as I'm not home I can't swipe it for you. (Random knowlege? I declared a chemistry concentration in my major [environmental science] so I pick up weird chemistry-related tidbits all the time.)
Good luck in your quest for the mythical healthy brownie. May I second the request for a shared recipie, when you've cracked the case?
Oh gosh, I hope you're done with them by now! GOOD LUCK!!! :D (Thanks, by the way! ^^) Hahaha, I'm sure you'll be more than capable of leading your group.
Omg, a gorilla! XD You guys totally rock! The only people who dresses up here are those who goes to clubs. And you can bet their skirts would be extra short. :S
Heh, I'm actually not that keen on working, but well, I have to start somewhere, I guess. :P
Omg the potassium! I did think of that actually! :D But I have baked banana breads many times before without the spices and with very minimal sugar (4 bananas to 10g of sugar) and I never had that problem before. :( Maybe I just have to let my bananas be super overripe? And, um, can I ask you more questions? (hehe) Is it salty because I happen to have chloride in the batter to form salt or do things taste salty from addition of group one elements? Does the anion matter?
