So Soilwork was awesome! They put on a great show in Cleveland on friday. My neck is still killing me from head banging and pumping my fists in the air. Just ask Jen she'll tell you. There was a pit, but wasn't very big... except for the guy in the middle of it! He had his shirt off, and weighed easily 300lbs. F That.
Sucks that I don't go to punk shows anymore, but it's a fact that PUNK IS DEAD. Ever since the teenie boppers took over, and emo evolved spreading throughout radio stations and homes all over the world. Strung Out's new CD is decent. Not nearly as good as the prior ones. Pennywise's new CD is pretty good. Can expect some good stuff in the future from them still. Besides them two, what's there to look forward to? NOTHING. Though it's a treat to jam the older Guttermouth, Jugheads, 10 Foot Pole, Lagwagon and so forth.
I was talking to some dude at work that told me Amorphis was just here, and was a little upset. I really did their new cd. It's not metal, it's just like melodic rock. Good stuff. I don't think i'll be attending ozzfest, but there's still a small small chance I will be. Soilwork and In Flames will be there, but that's the extent of who I wanna see. Not paying 80 bucks, and 8 hours of being bored to see two great bands perform 30 min sets.
The highlights of the trip to Cleveland with Jenny and Urb... was getting lost getting to Cleveland, getting lost in downtown Cleveland, and the lead singer from Soilwork staring at me in the crowd, while I was pointing at him yelling "that's right mother fucker!". I said that cause they were jamming so hard. He was cool as hell funny dude... he's the one on the far right of the pic above. Jen thinks he's cute... mainly because she pictured him looking like one of the long haired dudes in the band with a huge beard and a creepy looking face. Finally, eating at an Eat N' Park outside of Cleveland on the way home and having a black kid named Franklin be our waiter. I thought he was gay as hell when he greeted himself, but later determined he was an actual real life nice black human being.
Good times.
