Hey, I read this a while ago and realized I never commented. This was such a lovely picture of Cassie, I don’t even know what to say. I really enjoyed the insights into her budding partnership with Rob (very nice that you picked the incident with the junkie and the syringe, btw). Cassie is a rather complicated woman and you captured that --one of my favorite bits is the scene with her aunt, I loved the moment when it hits her how much she depends on her partner, the significance of it, especially for someone like her. And of course, the whole interaction with Rob was so spot-on. He can be kind and caring when he chooses and quite cruel when he doesn’t… but that last moment between them was lovely and perfect and kinda makes me want to cry for everything lost. Thanks so much for sharing this! These characters are so dear to me and I love how you wrote them <3

(also, I have to add, I guess it must be daunting to write for Tana’s novels, but I thought your style was perfectly in tune with the voice in the books and your third person POV worked beautifully).

Thank you! Yes, I do find this fandom pretty daunting to write for so it's always kind of a sigh of relief when people think I got it right, LOL. And for me it's such a weird combination of comforting and saddening to revisit these two at the good points of their relationship. *sigh* Oh, partners.
