So begins the last week of the era of apartment 1221. It's going to be weird leaving it behind as I've come to count on it in a lot of ways. There are a lot of memories here - some cherished, some I want to leave far behind. Such major events in my life either happened in this apartment or while I lived here. Most of my "real world" life has been been lived while calling this place home. And so many different people have lived here, too.
An so begins my bachelor life, too. My first real attempt at living alone. Of course, it wasn't supposed to be this way, but such is the way of things. I am looking forward to having everything just-so, though. I have an arrangement and layout in my head for the new pad that I hope will work. I'll be getting bits and pieces of furnishings, too -- hopefully soon after I move in. A couch! A corner couch, even! So those who would accuse me of lack-of-seating now won't have a leg to stand on. :-P
So here's to old times and a wee house that has served us well. If anyone wants one last look at it, you'll have to swing by this week. Of course, I've already roped a couple of you into helping me move, so you'll be seeing it anyway. ;-)
New times. Good times, I hope, too. Look out for a housewarming in February (hopefully).
. . .
I miss her more than I can put into words.
