It's all in my head

A round of weird dreams last night.  Three of them, actually, and they were all related.  It was almost like watching a three-part movie.

The first one took place in one of the offices at work.  There were a bunch of us there--me, my boss, and several others--and we were meeting about something, discussing something related to scheduling, poring over screens on the computer.  I couldn't tell you the details of this meeting now, but it seemed really important.  I woke up and thought, "Huh.  Okay."  I figured it had something to do with anticipating going back to work today.

In the second dream, my older brother and I were on a spaceship, traveling somewhere apparently related to the meeting in the first dream.  We were being followed.  I don't know if it was aliens following us or other human beings, but whoever they were, they were not friendly.  We had to crawl to get around on the ship because anytime one of us let ourselves appear in a window, the other ship would shoot at us.  This time when I woke up, it was, "What the fuck....?"

The third dream apparently took place upon the landing of the spaceships at our destination.   I don't know how I knew this, I just did.  The group of us who were in the office in the first dream were now slowly making our way through a dark tunnel.  A trickle of some kind of acidic goo stuff ran over the floor of the tunnel, and we had to pick our way carefully so as not to step in it.  I never figured out where we were going from there, because I woke up again, and it was time to get up and ready for work.

I got to work and was sitting in the office when my boss walked in.  He commented, "Hey, you're supposed to wake up before you come to work."  I replied, "Man, I had some weird dreams last night."

"Dreams?" he repeated, "More than one?"  I said yeah, "And you were in two of them."  He asked, "What, nightmares?"  Haha.  I told him about them, and when I finished, it occurred to me, "Maybe it had something to do with drinking two beers while watching Star Wars last night."  He laughed.

Still, I'm sure that was a contributing factor.  Star Wars, beer, thinking about work, a conversation with my mom... surely all took part in the formulation of this dream trilogy.  It's the first time I've had dreams like this, though.  Usually it's just one dream, unrelated to any other that I've had.  Three consecutive dreams in one night is unusual in itself.  For them to be related to one another like this was a unique experience, indeed.
