Job

Yay! I survived the layoffs. Today was one of my most nervous days since I started at Nike. Today 6 people from my direct group of about 60 people got cut. I knew 3 of them directly and one of them was my mentor when I was an intern. It always sucks to see people go, but I'm sure it will be for the best. I'm just happy right now because I get ( Read more... )

Would it still be "for the best" if you were one of the people who'd got cut? Not that I have any idea of what to do if I were in charge of a large company.. I'm just more interested in the mind set of people who'd been fired vs people who's jobs have been saved.

*shakes head* What is wrong with you!!!! :P Just kidding. Honestly if they didn't want you then yeah it is for the best. Kind of like everything else in life. So yeah. Honestly the people who got laid off have enough severance pay that they can take a few months off and still be fine. Sometimes I wish I had time off. I hate fucking working and not having time off. I want to be back in college! I want a summer break.

Hells yeah to that. I loved my college time. Truly some of the best life moments there. If I could find a way to do that for the rest of my life that would be golden. Spend all my time learning around people I like totally perfect.

Lol. So true. People you like is key. I got really depressed a week or two ago when a lot of my college friends graduated because they were all moving away. Now I have to spend 8 hours a day at work with people I care less about. Granted it is probably my fault that I'm not friends with many of them, but who fucking cares. If they wanted to be friends they were try. Fuck the people at work I just want to be around my good friends like you guys back in California and the friends I have up here. This is partially way I want to go back to school and get an MBA. I kind of want to be back in it all. Lol. Great stuff....

it's sad that I was hoping all offices were at least somewhat as entertaining as The Office. Allright, I knew that wasn't really a possibility but one could hope. It's to bad that jobs don't have clubs and cafeteria's the same way as college. That's how I met most of my friends. Though I have considered joining groups and such, like a weekly pottery group or I've heard of Tai Chi in some park down here which sounded interesting... community stuff just in the hopes of meeting people. But the problem there is that (at least in Riverside) people don't go to community groups with any regularity.

I honestly wish my office was like The Office. I'd be totally down with some life and fun, but sadly nothing is ever like tv. I think if I ended up owning a business I would totally make it like the office environment, but I wouldn't be a crappy manager.
