Anyting but a wild child.

I just spent a whole part of my morning watching a documentary and reading about Genie, a "feral child" who spent nearly all of the first thirteen years of her life locked inside a bedroom strapped to a potty chair. She was a victim of one of the most severe cases of social isolation in American history. Seeing that this happened in the 70s, the scientists and media called her a "wild child" which I believe to be a terrible name since she was anything but wild, she never learned to speak or to interact or anything of the sort, so when she was discovered by Los Angeles authorities on November 4, 1970 she was still a baby in her mind, action and spirit. It truly is a heartbreaking story that strengthens my love and hate for humanity. Love for the few people who truly cared for her and did anything to help her and for Genie herself who is a rare definition of true innocence. And hate for the people who allowed this to happen and who only saw opportunity on her situation...but what can I say, if you are interested here is the entire documentary, it's very interesting and intriguing so if you got nothing better to do, give this a go:
