and in the end, we weren't so different, and we weren't so strong. we did start with something beautiful-an energy, a struggle to be free and fair, this ambition, this passion-but always know it was laced with hunger for wealth, with blood, with murder. we capitalized on greed, and so we grew at an alarming rate. in the beginning we believed that the Ends Justifies the Means, and so we killed innocent people, stole their land, and brought slaves. in the end, we believed the Ends Justify the Means, and so we attacked innocent people, destroyed their land, homes and children, and called it Freedomonthamarch. in all the time between, we learned nothing. in the end, all it took was nineteen men and two airplanes to reduce us to a land that deals in secret, tortures innocents, spies on its people and lies to its people. all it took was one good punch in the face to strip away our veneer of justice and righteousness and reveal us for the intractable, alienated, bullying and posturing nation we are.
america is dead. long live america.
