could you possibly fit any more radness into one weekend? i can't even describe it in full, but it included:
1. seeing sara. awesomest part of the weekend by far.
2. discovering how cool portland is.
2.5 discovering how not cool the music on the 30th floor of the u.s. bankcorp building is.
3. seeing pat mcdonald and the violent femmes for $5 and trying unsucsessfully and admitedly only half-heartedly to get backstage. also discovering the greatest band in portland, hillstomp, and judging our own little dance contest in which the drunk participants had no clue they were competing.
4. meeting a girl in line for beer who was an r.a. with kristina at ups. that was an awkward conversation.
5. having breakfast in a trendy portland neighborhood with sara and kristin.
6. a beautiful drive through oregon's wine country, to a wine tasting at a big house on top of a big hill where there was a huge dog named bear but i called him bucket head.
7. performing with kristin again and meeting all her family and seeing her cousin perform.
8. sleeping in my truckbed and watching the meteor shower with a great wine buzz.
9. driving up the 101 through astoria and past cannon beach where parts of the goonies was filmed.
and there was more. much more that wouldn't amuse you to read but which kept me with an eternal grin on my face all weekend. seriously. truth is, i was almost dreading this weekend at first, because i didn't know what to expect at the wine tasting thing, but as soon as kristin and i were on the road i knew it was going to be awesome, and then when i saw sara's smiling face, it was awesome and perfect from that moment on. ranks right up there with amelia's gardening / beer drinking / bonfire party.
i don't think i'm going to be worth a shit at work this week, and i'm still floating from the weekend, and i leave for kentucky thursday night, so i'm just in a daze. that, and i'm also almost finished with the latest harry potter book, so all i can think about is how's it gonna end...
