A Chronological Guide to My Hornblower Fanfic
Because I write so many wee snippety ficlets in this fandom, it's struck me that new or returning readers might appreciate some sort of timeline indicating when each drabble, tribble, or what-have-you takes place in relation to the canonical HH-verse. I've compiled two such chronological guides below.
The first timeline covers several ficlets that occur within a single alternate history focussing on the pairing of Archie Kennedy and Major Edrington (although not all stories in the sequence actually feature that pairing). For the sake of convenience, let's call this the Hellespont AH.
The second timeline contains all my other HH-verse fanfic, including AUs, silliness, and fictional scholarship (the latter listed according to both 18C "sources" and modern "publications"). Though these stories were composed as one-offs, a number of them do work together when read in series. I've marked with asterisks the titles in this group that can be read--if you like--as a loose but internally consistent sequence of "missing scenes" taking place during gaps in--and around the edges of--the canonical HH narrative. Canonical dates are noted as they appear in the TV series.
ETA: Any future HH fic(lets) will be noted here as well as in my memories. Stories in the right-hand column take place within the time span of the episode or book listed above; stories in the left-hand column take place before/after/between episodes.
