So....
We went and talked to the guy about a house again. We talked to him last year but I hadn't moved yet and I hadn't sold either of my two houses at the time, so we were kind of stuck with what we could do. We had made the modifications to the manufactured home and gotten a quote on making it into a modular, but that's about as far as we went with it.
Now...we're back at it. We went and looked at all the new models on the lot, but still liked or original choice. We took the modifications back in and now we're waiting to see what the price comes back with. If the price is too high, we'll forget the 2nd floor and just get the attic space. The 2nd floor would be ideal, but we'll just have to see what happens. If that doesn't chop the price enough (although it should), we'll just go with the manufactured home instead.
The biggest obstacle we have will be finding a lot, seeing what we can afford and getting a construction loan - which no one is really doing these days.
So...if none of that works...we'll start looking at houses that are already on the market again. Either way, I want to move.
