*is such a sucker for Claude and little!Claire*

Me, too. I had hopes for that plotline even before they said anything about it having been planned, simply because I have observed CE's chemistry with teenaged girls before. It's not always sexual (as with Kate Winslet and Billie Piper), but it can be very sweet, as with Nancy in Doctor Who or Sahira in Hearts and Minds.

the textures are very nice too.

Thank you! It's something I appreciate in others' writing and was endeavouring to bring. This story is...not quite a jigsaw puzzle, more like a tapestry, just a few threads here and there trying to tell a larger story.

Sandra/Claude? I have never even thought of this before. It's compelling and a bit scary at the same time.

Well, I'm going to leave it very much up to the "eye of the beholder", but there's always something compellingly attractive about a man who's good with children. I think it's hard-wired, even with those of us who may not actually want children, like me! And with a distant husband, a charismatic young man who's good with children, particularly her child?

Actually, I don't think there's anything going on at all. But Bennet is a bit paranoid.

That is an amazing icon. *.*

But yeah, I actually wrote a Claude and 3-year-old-Claire fic a long time ago (it's next in Lies to Live By. At the time I was bent on doing them in chronological order.), complete with invisible magic tricks ^^. The image was just too good to pass up. And I hadn't quite considered that but you're right: he is good with teenage girls. huh.

:D Eye of the beholder is good, and lots of fun in itself besides, anything that makes Bennet paranoid is entertaining
