Author's notes: First, thanks as always to wendymr for a great beta. I have gone against her advice in one place, so if you spot a mistake, that would be me. Second, I have taken some architectural liberties with the building in question, but there was no way to make this work without building an addition. And third, sincere apologies to anyone who has ( Read more... )

Oh, the yearning! You write them so well. I absolutely love this story.

I'm so glad you liked it! And yes, this chapter was all about the yearning. Not that other chapters won't have it, and there are a couple of other things going on here, but mostly, there's yearning.

And waltzing.

Oh, that was gorgeous. I absolutely love the way you write these three and how much they care for each other and, yes, yearn for each other.

I do look forward to the next installment.

(btw, I think I might have to friend this LJ since I only discovered this was posted because Wendy sent me the link :))

Ack! Did you not get my e-mail? I was having some problems with TSP, in addition to the moderator's lag, and I wanted to let you know it was here! :( Darned LJ.

But I'm glad Wendy pointed you in this direction. I would welcome you most happily to friend this journal - it's fic only, so you don't have to wade through much on your f-list.

And I'm so glad/relieved that you liked it. The next installment is in the works, and I think/hope the worst is over. This chapter like to killed me, to be Southern for a moment - I've had it in my head but could not get it out in words. I think I conceived of it cinematically and just couldn't translate in my weirdly braindead state. /tmi

I really love the way you handle dancing... I only barely know how to swing dance, and already I am absolutely amazed at the difference between a graceful lead and a mediocre one. You can know all the steps and technical details, but there's something else to it and if you don't have it, dancing is no fun.

This is beautiful!

Thank you!

Yes, the nuances make a big difference in dancing (I'm a former dancer and a musician, so it's something that I notice whether I'm paying attention or not!). It's that hard-to-describe but core-deep awareness of beat. One of the reasons I thought about the waltz - other than having seen CE looking extremely fine in a tuxedo - is that I've noticed that when he dances, however dorky the movements, he really knows where the beat is. There are plenty of people who can make pretty pictures, but if they can't feel where the beat is, it's just not right.

He manages to be dorky, but graceful, yes.
