But I'm glad Wendy pointed you in this direction. I would welcome you most happily to friend this journal - it's fic only, so you don't have to wade through much on your f-list.
And I'm so glad/relieved that you liked it. The next installment is in the works, and I think/hope the worst is over. This chapter like to killed me, to be Southern for a moment - I've had it in my head but could not get it out in words. I think I conceived of it cinematically and just couldn't translate in my weirdly braindead state. /tmi

Yes, the nuances make a big difference in dancing (I'm a former dancer and a musician, so it's something that I notice whether I'm paying attention or not!). It's that hard-to-describe but core-deep awareness of beat. One of the reasons I thought about the waltz - other than having seen CE looking extremely fine in a tuxedo - is that I've noticed that when he dances, however dorky the movements, he really knows where the beat is. There are plenty of people who can make pretty pictures, but if they can't feel where the beat is, it's just not right.
