bits and pieces

So! Lambing season is just beginning in Somerset and I spent a lot of today helping out on George's farm, though we didn't get as many as we thought. About ten singles and ten doubles overall. One ewe gave birth to quads! Unfortunately, none of the four survived-- too premature-- but the ewe's adopted a pair of lambs whose mother died. Those little lambs are so cute! They come out all slimy and shiny and new and they're skittering around like nobody's business within a few minutes. Go, babies!

Calfing should be interesting, though that's always a lot messier. Ah well. Miracle of nature and all that.

Now I'm all geared up to write some ooar farming-type writing. I'll see what I can dredge up. XD

Yesterday I went to see the new Pegg & Frost film, Paul, and it was actually really awesome. I wasn't sure about it from the trailer but I'm really glad I went to see it. Simon Pegg's parodies are always so awesome, Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead being the other two he's made so far, and support themselves surprisingly well instead of dissolving into mickey-taking.

Tomorrow I'm helping one of my sisters go out and pick her prom dress. It's been ages since we've done girly-bonding-time so I'm really looking forwards to it! She is absolutely gorgeous and would look fabulous in a binbag but for some reason values my advice when it comes to fashion. XD Little-sister mentality? Anyway, should be a great day.

Aside from the root-canal I have scheduled in the afternoon but, um, hopefully that will be fine. They're hooking me up to laughing gas anyway so I'll be having a whale of a time! Or that's the plan, anyway.
