Hey guys, I know I've recommended "The Demon's Lexicon" here on my LJ before, but I can't find the entry, and it's definitely almost two years ago anyway, so there's several people on my flist, now, who weren't here when I posted that. Which is why...

...I'll recommend it again. Seriously, guys, I know most of you guys are either into 'Supernatural' oder just generally well-written fantasy stories, right? So, if you are any of that, and you haven't read 'The Demon's Lexicon' yet? GO AND FREAKING DO IT!!!

I'll just roughly summarize what the novel's about: There's those two brothers, Alan and Nick. Alan is the older one, bookish, smart, good-hearted, sweet guy. Nick is the younger one, bad guy type, mysterious and dangerous, taller and stronger than Alan. The brotherly banter between the two, will definitely remind most of you of 'Supernatural' - as will various other plot events and twists surrounding those two characters. Oh, have I mentioned they're really good with weaponry and tend to kill things that go bump in the night? Yeah, that too.

Aside from those two, there are two other protagonists, Mae and Jamie, also siblings. Mae is the older sister, always looking out for her little bro, emotionally intelligent and as awesomely self confident and well-written as every female character should be, ffs. Jamie is funny, a little sassy and cute. Also gay, which is never even actually an issue in the novel - again something that is exactly as you've wished it were in so many other novels you read.

What happens is, Jamie has been marked by a demon, which is never a good thing (you get posessed and then you die - and who'd want that, right?). So, in order to not let that happen, Mae asks Alan and Nick for help, because they know their ways around demons and witchcraft and that kind of stuff. I'm not going to say more, only that it gets more and more exciting from there and you'll LOVE the final reveal.

So, yeah, go and read it. Seriously.

And, once you've done so, you'll be wanting to read more. Luckily for you, there IS MORE:
'The Demon's Lexicon' is the first part of a trilogy. The second one being called 'The Demon's Covenant'.

While the first one is bsically written from Nick's point of view, the second one is written from Mae's and... Boy, I can't really review it much, because I don't want to give away anything about the big plot twist of the first novel. And there's so much going on in the second that leads back to what happened there. Hnn, let me just list a couple of my favorite scenes:
- Nick and Alan's dead father's journal talking about the boys when they were little
- Mae having a casual conversation with a demon in the yard
- Alan being a liar and yet the best person he could possibly be, IMO.

But I don't need to tell you more, because once you've read 'The Demon's Lexicon' you'll WANT TO read 'The Demon's Convenant' anyway.

And once you're read that, you'll be dying to read the third part of the trilogy, much like I am right now. 'The Demon's Surrender' comes out TODAY, ladies and gentlemen. And I don't have it yet, because Amazon decided to be a B*TCH at the worst moment ever and delayed my pre-order. Can you believe it???

Thank God, KateLinnea is giving away 5 copies of 'The Demon's Surrender' in her contest here. I'm hoping to win one. Or, at least, that YOU win one, so I can borrow it from you, till Amazon delivers. Deal?
