My results were too funny not to post. The nearest book to me at the moment is David Nettle's Happiness: The Science Behind Your Smile. But page 123 does not contain text. Instead, it features a picture of a rat self-administering (by pushing down on a lever) electrical stimulation to its lateral hypothalamus.

We all know LJ is addictive! The space bar is like a little drug dispenser ::makes like Don mimicking morphine pump:: "We like that!" Although I know I've been reading too much fanfic when "self-administering" automatically seems somewhat...risqué.
