Video, Beer, and Blah
Today sucked somewhat. Ty called about faxing divorce papers over.....I still am trying to get together the funds to get a lawyer. I'm not bitching but honestly she has no fucking understanding of money. I'm stuck paying 1758 for a Condo no one lives at she just lives under the auspices of her folks. I've got the money coming but it just sucks.....
On another note. I'm working on Allalonenow's computer. I've got everything working except for one key part. The video card is shot to hell on the mother board and will only go to 4bit (16 colors at 640x480). It's a Intel GS soemthing chipset by "IWILL". The problem is that the drivers aren't loading. I run the install on a fresh install of XP and the installer shits the bed. I downloaded the drivers for the video card from IWill as well as Intel but the installer failed to load them saying a part of the file required was missing. It's an older board with one PCI free slot. I took an old S3 Video Card (Hercules) and installed it but XP couldn't get it to load. The S3 Chipset is "old school" so it should of loaded. On the auspices that the video card is kaput does anyone have a old PCI video card they'd like to sell or let me borrow to test the board's PCI slot. I'm thinking I can just turn off the on board video off and just use a PCI video card. The USB ports and Ethernet ports are working flawlessly. The video's just kaput.
If no one doesn't have one someone feel like going up to First Saturday with me. (I checked out Fry's and they don't carry PCI video cards only AGP and PCI Express.) If you see a PCI card anywhere in the stores let me know and I'll make a trip out.
