Draco made a grab for the ring box. Harry held it away from him.
“It comes with strings.” Harry stated.
Draco’s hand dropped to his side. “Strings?” He asked warily.
Harry flicked the box open. “Yes. Me, for life. Kids maybe and a home.”
“Not very romantic.” Draco scoffed.
“You just called me bastard.”
Draco chuckled. “Well let’s see then.”
“Is that a yes?”
“Depends on the ring.”
Harry held out the box. The alexandrite asscher cut ring sparkled red in the low light. Golden obsidian and a pair of diamond baguettes filled out the platinum setting.
“My birthstone, in a ridiculous size and custom cut. You may not be a romantic, but you certainly know how to flatter a man.”
“Draco…”
On Boxing Day with all their friends around Draco’s left hand flashed a ring over the fondue pot, again.
Pansy, finally, shrieked. “You’re not that interested in cheese, Draco. Spill boys!”
