My cousin and his wife are working in Tanzania at the moment, and they have become involved in a community project which needs donations. They are working with a poor community of about 20,000 people called Tindiga, where there is little in the way of sanitation, clean water, public services or any kind of recreational activities. Furthermore, the population is estimated to be about 60% under the age of 18, and there's only one primary school. There are high instance of crime, prostitution, drug and alcohol abuse, AIDS and HIV and other such problems.
My cousin's wife is involved in a project to build a community sports, education and resource centre for the benefit of all in the community, to reduce crime and disease by increasing learning, education, training and self-esteem. It will include a running field, computer room, drama, arts and music facilities, library and a new well amongst other things.
The total cost of the project is estimated to be €85,000 (£57,790 / $114,525), which is not much at all by Western standards. Any donations are welcome, no matter how small. I will vouch for this being a genuine request.
