This is a photo from last February. It is the path I always used to cycle along to school. There and back, every day for almost ten years. (That's how long we've been living in this house.)
It was a very significant part of my route, because of its narrow nature, and the only part where only cyclists were allowed. Also it was named after the founder of my school, who had very particular ideas. But the best thing about it was that in summer, it was always so green! The trees and bushes would be plump and full, and on the right -- before the fenced hockey fields were built -- you could gaze over a wonderfully large grass lawn, with more trees on the other side. In the spring they would pop one by one and remind you how full their forms were and not just flat silhouettes. Among them, the juneberry bushes would be the first to bloom in white! On one particular point, I always looked to my left as in a reflex; there would be a gap in the undergrowth to reveal a heather clearing beyond. Especially in the morning dew, that would sometimes make for such lovely lighting.
