New Ambleside in Autumn

Apr 14, 2010 20:35

Why yes, I am still around!
Inspired by spring I have been hopping around trying new things for the last while, and it feels like I've been neglecting the Sims a bit... I have to catch up on the S2S forum, but I'm frightened by the time that'll take! And there is also that NLC update that has to be finished before Monday. I can afford to slack off a little at school right now, but not forever.. and these new hobbies I've been trying deserve time too.
Everything is exciting though!

Well, enough with the babbling! You're here for the pictures. I bring you some pictures.
Completely contrary to the spring air right now, but perhaps the Simmers in Australia will find it appropriate... :D New Ambleside was covered in autumn trees when I came back from playing the Fairfoot family.

*****************************************************

A "mini" backstory I wrote up. It's too well summarized to lose it in the jungle of posts at S2S, even though I got carried away a little :D

Ambleside used to be a thriving town, it even had a university and a well-trafficked railway to the nearby city it belonged to, Clappersgate City. Then someday an evil scientist decided he would play God, poisoned all the citizens (also referred to as The Big Plague) and intended to start over with a new clean town at his demand... only to fall ill at the toxic fumes himself. His ghost is said to still roam his little Super Secret Shack between the rocks, but that's a whole other story.
The townhouses in Ambleside were abandoned and Clappersgate City was astounded by the sudden loss of so many. They waited years for the leftovers of poison to die away, and then slowly started to rebuild that part of their district that had once been so lively. Not so long ago, it was finally ready. A memorial was raised and a little park named after an important former citizen of Ambleside. One family (my sim self, the one in my icon) moved into one of the cleaned apartments of the re-named New Ambleside, then Pippin Fairfoot also made it his home.
And the rest, as they say, is history -- even though nobody knows yet where it'll take us!
