one of those days...
It's one of those days where I actually say to myself... hey, I'd kinda like to go to the mall and buy clothes. Too bad most of those clothes I want to buy will not be in season for me in a month... I'm leaving for winter in July after all.
We'll see if that happens.
It's also one of those days that, beyond all reason or logic, I wish I went to an Ivy.
Not for the education, maybe for the location, but really for the name. It's silly, I go to a relatively prestigious school where I have great friends, am doing well and am getting a pretty rockin' education. But it doesn't stop me for sometimes wishing I could just say, when someone asks, 'I go to ' and see the reaction it gets out of people. Or just that sense of prestige or entitlement.
*Le sigh* - and yes, I went into Cambridge this afternoon which probably spawned it.
I'm going to U. of Auckland next semester. I thought it was the best school in New Zealand and it was, in fact... when I applied. The NZ ratings just came out and it turns out that Otago currently holds that mark (by .03 points, granted) and go figure, it's where my ex is going.
But then again, I chose to go to U. of Auckland mainly becasue of the location - it's in a HUGE city, which is what I wanted. Everyone from Colgate goes to Otago, and I wanted to do something different.
Besides, it's the only University in NZ ranking as one of the top 50 universities in the world ;-)
