In my last entry I said I needed a vacation.  Well I ended up going to Holland and Germany for a month.  It was awesome..especially Holland.  It is such a fun and beautiful place to be.  I cant wait to go back next year.

Right now I'm taking two economics classes.  I'm doing great in the 385 level class but really terrible in econ 100.  WTF... This professor's exams are crap.  I was not even going to take this class until I thought, "Hm, maybe this will help me with 385" FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

I cant wait until the Fall semester starts though.  It will be my first (non-summer) semester commuting.  I only have class 2 days a week so it's perfect.  I felt like living on campus was so pointless for me especially this last Spring semester. I was paying ~$3600 plus the cost of living on my own (food, etc).  So in the Fall, I will get money back because I get a scholarship! The other semesters the scholarship money was used to help pay for housing (in addition to some subsidized loans).  So yeah, this year I will try to buy ALL of my books online instead of at the campus bookstore which charges monopoly prices (ha, learned that one from Econ).

What else is there to update?  Oh yeah, I've been getting into textiles/sewing.  I learned how to make flowers and stuff from my aunts and grandmother (who used to be really good khayats in Kabul, back in the day) but I still need a lot of practice.  I saw some of their work and my jaw fell down to the floor. I can't believe how good their work used to be.  It's a shame that they're all old and their eyes cant see anymore.. I wish they had taught me when I was little.  Oh well..

So maybe in my next post I will attach some of the things I like: such as girl chapans (uzbek coat), suzanis (needlework), and other central asian delights.  In the mean time here is a picture of me at an engagement party in Holland:
