Jan - A creme brulee tart, with the warm flavours of real vanilla pods and oozing raspberry centre. Expensive and calorific, but oh-so-good.
Jan - Free copy of Coe, Kelly & Yeung's latest edition of 'Economic Geography'. Hurray for free books!
Jan - Lunching with colleagues, a number of whom I had not seen much of over the December holidays.
Jan - Getting really good scores (my highest so far) for my Student Feedback for last semester. Really surprised and pleased. And seeing some former students at the lecture hall who came to offer support to me and Alan for our new class, which was very sweet (although clearly too much time of their hands being only Week 1 of the new semester!)
Jan - Getting a good amount of writing done, almost done with revising my paper for resubmission.
Jan - Spending a lovely afternoon visiting friends (Keemin and Holly's enviably spacious apartment) and having tea and cake. Very civilised. Only had to chase Thomas around the flat a little.
Jan - Finding a really nice indoor playground (Hokey Pokey - www.facebook.com/sghokeypokey) and seeing how much fun Thomas had exploring the enormous place with seemingly endless toys. Loving the fact that it is rather quiet play with little play areas/stations, unlike indoor gyms with big play structures (tends to get kids hyped up and overly-excited, and exhausting for parents to keep up!). Andy and I actually got to sit down and just watch Thomas play, with some help here and there.
