Got some infomation from Toshi's mother:

---Email start---
Greetings,
I spoke to (Toshi) by telephone last night and wanted to let friends and family know that she is alive and well in Munakata, Japan! Communications have been difficult so you likely have not heard from her directly. Since departing from home, she spent a weekend in the San Francisco area with other JUMP Scholarship recipients, then flew to Tokyo for a weeklong orientation. Last weekend, she flew to Munakata and met her host family.

Today she was going to visit the school she will be attending starting April 8. Finding a uniform to fit was problematic as she is rather more statuesque than the average Japanese student. She said that in order to get to school, she will have to take a bus for 10 minutes, to a train for another 40 minutes, and then walk another 20 minutes - very different from catching a bus on the corner to a school a mile away. She is sharing a room with her new sister, who is reported to be very shy and quiet so far.

It is too soon to tell how much internet access she will have, phone calls are expensive, and there is a considerable time difference (they're 17 hours ahead). I'm sure that she will try to set up an email group when she is able, but time online may be very limited; not like at home where she spent hours most nights corresponding with friends! For now, I'll try to keep this small group posted when I can. Feel free to spread the word to other friends as I have very few addresses.

Ah... life.

I haven't heard directly from Toshi since she left, save one two minute telephone call.

I miss her.

I suppose that I am doing the right thing. I've not attempted to contact Edelweiss, figuring that it would be best to give her space to adjust completely to her new life. I wonder if it's the best course of action.

In other news, I edited some stuff for DolphinCheddar, which makes me happy.
I've also be emailing back and forth with Raigeki, a friend of mine. My latest email to him was 8 pages in MS Word. Interesting to a degree. Maybe I'll post it.
Through google chat, I've become aqquainted with Dreamburnt, the author of Lacunae. Very interesting person, to say the least.

Today is my little sister's birthday.

Ne'leyas.
