Ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-chaaanges
Just an overall update for the masses because, let's be honest, I've been kind of avoiding writing in my LJ for a while now. There has just been too much going on lately to write it all down, but here's a superficial list of sorts- kinda just a reminder out there that I'm alive:
- If you're actually interested in my day-to-day shenanigans, you can follow me on Twitter. I post there a lot, and since I found a great Twitter client for my phone, I've been updating that so much more. I think
vorpal_rabbit will concur, I post plenty of interesting stuff.
- About 4 weeks ago, the Ex and I went our separate ways for good- basically promising that we wouldn't see each other or really be in contact anymore. As probably most of you are well aware, seeing your Ex to "hang out" or "have a friendly dinner" does not lead to a healthy emotional equilibrium. Since then I've only chatted with him once over gchat, and it was happily innocuous: he needs to give me some things back. Oh, so I thought I was missing my Prince Caspian DVD... there it is.
- I got a red streak put in my hair. See picture right. The color tone is a little bluer than the picture shows, but you get the idea. I'm very happy with it- and no one at work has yet said that it looks or seems unprofessional. I think I can keep it for a while. If I need to attend any high-profile meetings, I can easily put a headband over it to cover it up.
- Technically, I am the owner of a 2000 BMW 323i. Jet black, tan interior, V6 and HOT. I say "technically" because I have none of the paperwork done, and I am not in possession of the car yet. That all changes this afternoon when I get it all sorted after work. I've got a name picked... but I don't want to definitively decide on that till I can drive him around a bit and make sure the name fits 'im. Pictures will be posted on Facebook and Twitter.
- My mom flies in to JFK tomorrow...
-... this is because I'm moving all my worldly possessions to Branford, CT a week from tomorrow. Ma's gonna be so upset that I've only packed 1 box. ... and I have a full 2 hampers of dirty laundry on my floor right now. ... and I have no food in my fridge. Sooo, if anyone's interested in coming down to New Haven to help me schlep boxes, I can promise a fantastic pizza dinner and my eternal gratitude.
- I've been really happy of late: possibly because almost every aspect of my life is changing, I think, for the better. I'm moving out of New Haven- shedding the mobility limitations of not having a car; I think I'm at long last over the whole Ex thing, which had me hung up in life for the past, oh, year; my social circle is expanding rapidly, and I'm meeting new and really friggin nice people; I'm on the cusp of being done with this commission painting- only a few more things to add and my Albatross will be plucked and cooked (Progress at my drawing blog). There are other things, but I'll leave that for a locked post. ;-)
I've missed posting to LJ- I hope after I move in a week, I can post more often... my life will be a whole lot less insane.
