was looking for a playlist to listen to this morning and came across the one that i made on my 21st birthday.

1. The Murderers - Ja Rule
2. The Christmas Song - Weezer
3. Pathetique Sonata - Beethoven
4. Sway - Bic Runga
5. Break Ya Neck - Busta Rhymes
6. I am Ready - Counting Crows
7. Down With the Sickness - Disturbed
8. Let Me Blow Ya Mind - Eve and Gwen Stefani
9. The Grouch - Green Day
10. Come Here Boy - Imogen Heap
11. Into the Void - Nine Inch Nails
12. Gone - N'Sync
13. Freakish - Saves the Day
14. Muzzle - Smashing Pumpkins
15. Schism - Tool
16. Beulah Land - Tori Amos
17. Raspberry Swirl - Tori Amos
18. Detonated - Agent 51
19. A Story at Three - AFI
20. Wester - AFI
21. What's Love Got to do With It? - Ja Rule
22. Barroom Hero - Dropkick Murphys
23. Morningstar - AFI
24. Cleaning Out My Closet - Eminem

songs in bold are those that i am particularly incredulous about. i would now like to take a moment to say whatthefuck?

i decided to listen to the list and was surprisingly overwhelmed by dormant emotions. i remembered EXACTLY how my 21st birthday went, what i did, what the afternoon sun felt like while i was drawing in my room, the dinner my roommates made for me...
realized that music preserves my life better than any other external mechanism that i can think of. even my journal is riddled with interpretations and false melodrama but music seems to etch moments on the psychic canvas more accurately than anything else.
i'd love it if my life was put to a never-ending soundtrack that continued to build itself as the years passed. it would be interesting to sit down and write down the songs that compose my life thus far...
