The people that you find...
So the other day I discovered my old friend/eighth grade crush on Classmates.com. I sent him a message and lo and behold he replied that he's in Iraq but has constant access to a computer so to email him.
I did just that. And yesterday he popped on AIM and we had the longest conversation. I think it was like four hours or more. I had to get off but I told him I'd stay in touch and he told me that when he gets back we will have to hang out. I was really excited bc I'm like YAY! Nilda will have a platonic male friend again, seeing as how I've lost my old one to my damn attraction to him :-p
I get online today and check the usual sites...myspace, facebook, here. Then i click on to my Comcast account and see an email from him with the subject heading "moving". Apparently his unit got REASSIGNED to where as he put it "the real war is" and he won't be able to really contact anybody. He wanted to let me know so that I didnt think he forgot about me.
And why am I writing all this? B/c I now officially know somebody over there. Like not a friend of a friend, or a son of a family friend, but no a kid I grew up with. A good friend. It's the weirdest feeling.
Anywho, I told him I'd be praying for him, and for those on my friends list who pray I ask you to do the same. I hope he comes back safe in January.
