My Life, the Sitcom

May 09, 2010 16:14

The week has been filled with paper after paper, writing followed by more writing, little sleep, and hardly any food. Friday was my day to let loose and have some fun.

The 2 for 1 drinks at Badlands got us good. 8 o'clock hit and we were all drunken messes. Food seemed like the only cure. We left Badlands swaying across the sidewalks and chatting (yelling) to those who walked by before we ended up at Thai House Express.

Per usual, the boys were checking out the servers and pinpointing the gays. At some point, this lady walked up to refill our waters and as she turned to leave she told me, "You're really pretty, by the way". I responded with a "Thanks, you too". And I meant it. Of course, everyone began teasing and tried coercing me to get her number and ask her out. In my head I thought she was straight but I welcomed the compliment anyway.

Our attention drew back to our own server as the boys tried to convince me he was gay. I simply said no. One of them flagged over the lady who called me pretty and he said, "We think you two should go on a date". She said, "I would but I have a husband.. Maybe in another lifetime". We all laughed as she began to walk away before I called her back for another question.

"You know Pete...", I said. "We were all wondering, is he straight or gay?". She laughed before saying, "Pete's my husband". One of the boys said, "Congratulations", and she left us laughing our asses off at the table.

This my friends, is the story of my life. Hahaha. I love it.
