weeeeeeeeeeekend
sooooo, i havent updated because this week was absolutely PSYCHO in terms of work, and it's only going to get worse, even though I go on spring break after this week.
in any case, i want to update about our skiing expedition this past sunday. we woke up at 545 am and ben, tom and i hit the road around 6:30 (after getting breakfast at dunkin donuts) to make our way to sugarloaf, which is about 2 hours away. as usual, i get really wired that early in the morning because it usually means im on my way to do something really really fun/exciting.
it was tom's first time skiing, and ive been saying for a while that i wanted to take him/teach him. i started getting really nervous about this considering all of the jokes we were throwing around about him crashing into a tree.
anyway, after getting all of our gear etc. we got to the top of the "bunny" slope (biggest bunny slope I've ever seen) to start the lesson. Ben was already up there waiting, and he and i were ready to chuckle to ourselves when tom fell off the ski lift- it being his first time and all. It's like a right of passage. you ALWAYS fall on your first time. well, he didn't. First surprise of the day.
so we're standing at the top of mountain, ben and i are going over the "basics" of footwork etc, etc annnnnd then tom just takes off. we follow and are like "ok! stop there in the middle!" to make sure he was ok/comfortable/whatever, and no, he decided he'd keep on going. ben and i were shocked and pretty impressed. way to go babe.
all in all the day was awesome- we were exhausted by the end, and despite my efforts, i fell asleep on the drive back, so tom had to drive home with two sleeping passengers in the car. when we got back to campus i wasn't in the best of moods and tom and i ate dinner in 10 minutes because he had to go to work, and i had to watch a 2 hour movie in the library.
i don't think ive ever been any happier for bedtime to roll around.
this week passed by in a blur- i did a lot a lot a lot of work and now, when i should be showering, or starting my project/presentation that's due on monday, or just being productive in general, im sitting her typing an lj. i can't wait for spring break, but at the same time, i wish i could put it off a little more. we're that much closer to graduating. it's march already. i dont like the feeling that im not entirely ready for growing up. yea, i feel ten times better about it knowing that im going to have tom with me along for the ride, but i still feel like im being pushed head first into the next phase, and as you know i hate being pushed around.
