This email was sent from the leading Russian search engine Yandex LLC (
http://www.yandex.com ). We would like to draw your attention to a security issue involving your website ХХХ.com
Our indexing robots detected a number of suspicious pages similar to doorways during the last visit to your website. By the term 'doorway' we imply webpages designed with the sole purpose of redirecting users to another resource instead of giving them useful information. You're able to see the examples of such webpages in Yandex.Webmaster service (
http://webmaster.yandex.com/ ). This service contains a number of special tools designed to manage your website indexing process and check its security system. Within 24 hours after adding your website to Yandex.Webmaster service you will receive an email containing examples of suspicious pages found on your website.
The fact of such pages being detected on a website is usually caused by a hacking attack to this website.
In order to restore your website security we recommend that you:
• change all your passwords (FTP, CMS admin panel, DBMS, SSH [if applicable], as well as your web hosting control panel)
• check your website for possible vulnerabilities and contact a web security expert if necessary
• update your CMS and any plugins to the most recent version (the fact is hackers often exploit vulnerabilities in older software versions)
• make sure you have an antivirus installed on your computer and keep it up-to-date all the time
• never save any browser, file manager or FTP, SFTP, SCP and SSH client passwords.
Only those pages of your website that appear to have been hacked may be removed from Yandex.com search results. Thereby your website main content will not be subject to any restrictions.
Simply ignore this message if you have already resolved the issue. Our robot will shortly re-index the affected pages of your website and update the relevant information in our search index.
Regards,
Yandex Safe Search Team
