I have been talking about the idea of this movie with a friend of mine almost every week and he and I agree that this is one anime that would actually not be crap due to its realism. The only thing that gets me worried at the moment is Reeves acting as spike. That may be just be me being negative or it might be my otaku instinct, but as of now im leaning towards it being something I call the DBE EFFECT which is short for Dragon Ball Evolution Effect. The way it works is that you become so traumatized from seeing the DBE Trailer that you lose all hope of there ever being any well made live action anime films. Some of you are already probably under the DBE EFFECT. *har har har*
Let us all pray that they do a good job with the casting and writing for the film everyone. *prays*
After a 2 week drought of One Piece Weekly Jump finally gave us otaku something to munch on with their most recent issue of Jump.
NARUTO
I think I speak for everyone when I say HOLY SHIT. This weeks Naruto chapter was filled with Frog Sage goodness. Kishimoto has outdone himself once again by giving Naruto a major power up. I can honestly say that the power gap between Naruto and Sasuke has finally been filled with frogs toads and all of that jazz. Naruto's new eyes are completely bad ass, and he has the power to match it.
During the beginning of this arc I was wondering whether Naruto would be able to match up to pain but now there are no doubts in my mind that naruto can beat pain. Hopefully next week instead of fighting giant rhinos and puppies he will finally get all the pain clones down and finally reveal who pain really is, but we all know that wont happen for a month or so. Naruto has finally become a splitting image of his father, and that makes this otaku start crying man tears.
BLEACH
This weeks Bleach although it was full of Ichigo and Ulquiorra goodness, still made me feel like I was reading a high school drama when it came to Orihime.
I dont have much to say about this chapter except "NEXT".
ONE PIECE
This weeks One Piece was pretty good with the debut of Jimbei and Luffy using Gear Third on Level 2. With this chapter it is official! We as One Piece fans have finally seen all the shichibukai, and Jimbei being the last one to make an appearance did not dissapoint us with his whale-shark husk of a body.
As usual Oda's writing is full of funny japanese puns and manly one liners that do not dissapoint. I would make a prediction of what is going to happen next week but with Oda you never know so instead I will just talk about the newest volume cover.
I like everyones Shabondy Archipelago clothing coloring and Silvers Raleigh. This Volume doesnt have too much writtenb into it like some of Oda's previous covers unfortunately. Its just like you see it, but I never get tired of seeing Oda's colored works.
