Siren Fest 2008

I have to admit that Siren Fest this year was pretty amazing. I usually go to Siren Fest just for the cool environment and the philly cheese steak sandwiches, but this year there were some bands that just made me go wow. These bands might not be the next Queen or Led Zep, but I have to admit that they were not bad. I managed to get to the front of the stillwell stage by the time The Helio Sequence came on stage which by the way was my favorite band of the day. There is something about them that I cant put my finger on about their songs that just made me want to hug people and just dance. While I was in the front for The Helio Sequence's performance I ran across a group of 2 asian guys with 1 white girl going nuts and just jumping and dancing. I decided to join them in their little circle of dance which was actually the best part of my day. Almost 1 hour of dancing to The Helio Sequence was enough to get me and my dancing posse tired. They decided to head to the main stage to see Stephen Malkmus And The Jicks, but I decided to stay and listen to Broken Social Scene because I had been hearing good things about them throughout the whole day. Im happy I made that decision because although Broken Social Scene wasn't as good was The Helio Sequence in my opinion they still rocked hard. Beach balls being thrown around everywhere during performances and non stop screaming that still rings through my ears is just what makes Siren Fest one the best days if not THE best day of my year.

I LOVE NEW YORK!
